Activist calls Delhi HC’s stand on ‘ Kolkata, June 20 (ANI): Women Rights’s Activist Saswati Ghosh on Friday said that Delhi High Court’s stand saying failed live-in relations is major reason for rape cases is very conservative. The court also cautioned parents of young couples to behave with "more sensitivity" while dealing with such issues. Police arrest top militant Abu Hanzalla Kulgam, June 20 (ANI): Police arrested a top militant on Friday from a hideout in Jammu and Kashmir state, said a senior officer. Acting on intelligence input, police launched a joint operation with army and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to nab Abu Hanzalla, one of the commanders of Lashkar-e-Toiba, in Kulgam District. Hanzalla, who hails from Multan city of Pakistan, is involved in a series of killings. The militant from Punjab province of Pakistan was active in south Kashmir since past two years and was deputy of the most wanted LeT chief in Kashmir Abu Qasim. 20-Jun-2014
Akhilesh presents Budget 2014-15, focus Lucknow, June 20 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Friday presented 2014-15 budget focusing mainly on development of the state. The government has closed the three main schemes Berojgaari Bhatta, Kanya Vidyadhan and Laptop. The SP government stressed on development of the state by focusing mainly on infrastructure and energy. Talking to mediapersons in Lucknow, he said that to develop the state, it is important to focus on key points Roads, Electricity, Health, Water, Home. Akhilesh announced the expansion of women’s helpline 1090 to ensure the safety of women in the state. BJP condemns Maharashtra govt over Campa New Delhi/ Mumbai/ Nagpur, June 20 (ANI): In the row of Campa Cola society crisis in Mumbai, BJP leaders condemned the ruling Congress-NCP government in the state for not taking appropriate steps. BJP leader Kirit Somaiya said that the government made laws to save the builders but did not do anything for the welfare of middle class people. BJP's Devendra Fadnavis said that Supreme Court's order had been misinterpreted but the state government could take quick action to save its people. BJP's Shaina NC said that action should be taken against the BMC officials and builders who executed the illegal building task not against the innocent residents. BJP says no question of Nihal Chand's re New Delhi/Lucknow, June 20 (ANI): Defending Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilisers Nihal Chand who has been issued a notice by a Jaipur court in a sexual assault case, BJP's Rajasthan unit said there was no question of his resignation as it was a conspiracy by Congress leaders. Senior BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain too termed it as a conspiracy and said there was no question of Nihal Chand's resignation as the previous Congress government in Rajasthan had filed a closure report in the case. PM, Sushma Swaraj will do all to secure Nagpur, June 20 (ANI): Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Friday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj would do all in their capacity to secure the release of Indians abducted in Iraq. Politicos react over MHA making Hindi as New Delhi, June 20 (ANI): Political leaders on Friday reacted over the MHA's decision of making Hindi as the official language. Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah said that the official language in his state is Urdu and English and if anyone wants to use Hindi will be allowed but no one will be forced to do so. CPI (M) leader Brinda Karat said that the decision by the new government is wrong about giving official language in Hindi language only. Heavy Rains Caused Huge Damage to Hunan As many as 370,000 people are affected and nearly four individuals missing by the heavy rains in China’s Hunan Province as per authorities. BJP justifies MHA advisory over Hindi as New Delhi, June 20 (ANI): The ruling BJP government on Friday justified the advisory issued by Ministry of Home Affairs about making Hindi the official language for communication. After much uproar was raised by the States, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi justified the MHA's advisory saying that making Hindi as the official language does not discourage or disrespect other regional languages. Railway Minister holds pre budget meetin New Delhi, June 19 (ANI): Railway Minister Sadanand Gowda held a meeting with officials in New Delhi to discuss about fare hike and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in railways. Gowda addressed all General Managers (GM), Divisional Railway Managers (DRM) and other senior officials on Thursday to finalise the way forward.
