Yashwant Sinha released from jail in Jha New Delhi, June 19 (ANI): Senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha was released from jail in Jharkhand on Thursday after he agreed to pay bail on Wednesday. Sinha, was arrested a fortnight ago for inciting a group of BJP workers to tie up an Electricity Board official to protest against a lengthy power crisis in his former constituency of Hazaribagh. He had agreed to apply for bail after senior leader LK Advani visited him in jail to persuade him to file a bail plea. Advani met Yashwant Sinha on Tuesday and asked him to continue his movement against power cuts in Hazaribagh after getting released from jail. Advani had also said that Sinha was capable of being the Jharkhand Chief Minister after his agitation against the power crisis in the state. 19-Jun-2014
Indian organization provides prosthetic Kabul, June 19 (ANI): An Indian organisation gave amputees in Afghanistan a new lease of life by providing them with prosthetic limbs free of charge at a month-long camp in Kabul. A team of 25 artisans from Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS) - non-government organisation (NGO) that designs and distributes prosthetic limbs free of charge - provided the victims of landmines and other war-related atrocities with the prosthetic limbs, which is popularly known as the Jaipur foot. Earlier on Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh Governor BL Joshi also gave his resignation. The NDA government after coming to power had started nudging seven Congress-appointed governors to quit. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy had said earlier that all the Governors, who were appointed by the previous UPA government, should resign.
