Seventh body recovered from Beas river, Mandi, June 12 (ANI): Rescuers recovered a seventh body from the River Beas on Thursday. A search is still on to find the remaining 17 bodies from the river which had swept away 24 college students and a tour operator earlier this week. Meanwhile, a team of Navy officials visited the place and is likely to assist in rescue operations. More divers with latest equipments are also expected to join the search operations. The students, belonging to VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology in Hyderabad, were clicking photographs when they were swept away by the river after the officials released water from the Larji Dam located upstream. 12-Jun-2014
Minor girl found hanging from tree in Mo New Delhi, June 12 (ANI): A 16-year-old girl was found hanging from a tree in Rajupur Milak village in Moradabad district on June 12. This is the third such incident after the Badaun rape case, where two teenage Dalit girls were found hanging from a tree. The girl's family has alleged that she was raped and murdered after being reported missing the previous evening. Earlier, a woman was reportedly gangraped in Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur by a Sub-inspector inside the police station. 12-Jun-2014
Environment Ministry to ease norms for p New Delhi, June 12 (ANI): Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Thursday said that the Environment Ministry is planning to ease norms for strategic defence projects within 100 km from the Line of Actual Control (LAC) which is India's border with China, to enable faster permissions and simplification. CBI takes charge of Badaun rape case, pr New Delhi, June 12 (ANI): The CBI has filed an FIR and taken over the probe in Badaun rape case where two Dalit girls were found hanging from a tree in their village. CBI Director Ranjit Sinha said that Government of India has handed over the case to CBI and it will soon begin probe. Meanwhile, CBI Spokesperson Kanchan Prasad stated that an FIR has been filed in the case and a team of 20 officials will leave for Badaun on Friday to begin investigations. 12-Jun-2014

Soccer fan carves sculptures of football Thrissur/ Kolkata, June 12 (ANI): A sculptor and ardent soccer fan in Kolkata has carved 21 clay footballer models, three referees and a replica of the FIFA world cup trophy, which he plans to gift to the Argentina fan club. With the soccer world cup beginning on June 12, Kolkata is all decked up and revels in excitement filling the whole city with frenzy. BJP condemns Hamirpur Gang rape in polic New Delhi, June 12 (ANI): BJP leaders on Thursday condemned the incident of gang rape in a police station in Hamirpur by police officials. Siddharth Nath Singh stated that crime against women in Uttar Pradesh is increasing because of lawlessness and inefficiency of the state government. Campa Cola residents face eviction as de New Delhi, June 12 (ANI): The deadline for the residents of Campa Cola society in Mumbai to vacate their flats ends on Thursday. More than 100 residents who are living in the nine buildings have to vacate their apartments today following the Supreme Court order. The plea of residents of the building living there for years, located in suburban Worli, was rejected by the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
