Test skipper Hashim Amla and ODI skipper De Villiers laid the foundation of the South Africa win with their 77-run opening stand a left- handed batsman Jean-Paul Duminy and Farhaan Behardien remained unbeaten helping South Africa go 1-0 up in three-match series. Arvind Kejriwal meets locals in Dadri Dadri, Oct 03 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday visited Dadri to meet the family of Mohammad Ikhlaq, who was killed by a mob earlier this week allegedly over rumors that he had stored beef. Kejriwal interacted with the locals there who shared their grievances with him. Reportedly, the same morning a group of villagers led by locals drove out media and other visitors, including AAP volunteers, from the village. Superintendent of Police Sanjay Singh said that women and children were not comfortable with the continuous VIP movement in the village, and the Delhi CM was stopped because of the security reasons. Rajnath terms Lalu's jibe over beef cons Amarpur, Banka, Oct 03 (ANI): While addressing a rally in Amarpur in Bihar on Saturday Home Minister Rajnath Singh termed RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's jibe over beef consumption as diversion from real issues of Bihar. Rajnath also ridiculed that there is no need to communicate who consumes beef and who does not as it only is overshadowing the ground issues of Bihar. Lalu policed on beef consumption and termed it detrimental to health on being asked about the Dadri lynching case. He also said that everyone eats beef irrespective of their religion and said all of these incidents occur and our given a communal color. A 50 year old man was lynched over rumours of storing and consuming beef in Dadri. Mayawati questioned over NRHM scam, Oppo New Delhi, Oct 3 (ANI): Questioning of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati by Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with the alleged embezzlement of funds from the Centre'sponsored National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) involving Rs 10,000 crore, poured in reactions from various political parties. Opposition leaders alleged that BJP has been using CBI for political purpose. Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that BJP was using CBI for pressurizing the opposition to gain a say in Rajya Sabha. J-K Chief seeks credible inquiry into Ha Srinagar, Oct 03 (ANI): Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, on Saturday (October 03) sought a credible inquiry to establish the number of devotees killed in the stampede during Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia. Last month's disaster was the worst to befall the pilgrimage since July 1990, when 1,426 pilgrims were crushed to death in a tunnel near Mecca. Both stampedes occurred on Eid al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice), Islam's most important feast and the day of the stoning ritual. At least 51 Indians were killed in the stampede. Offering condolence to the bereaved families, Sayeed, without naming Saudi Arabia and Iran, asked countries to desist from blame game. He also sought adequate measures from the concerned authorities to prevent such accidents in the future. 03-Oct-2015
Classes held under tents at overcrowded Rajouri, Oct 03 (ANI): The lack of infrastructure and a dilapidated school building has not only affected students' studies, but also put the lives of almost 650 children at risk in Kashmir. The Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Rajouri district's Thanna Mandi village has just four rooms to accommodate the 650 students. At times the classes are shifted to make-shift tents, which do not stand torrid weather conditions. Even the teachers complained against the unfavourable conditions at the school. Economic Survey points out that the overall Standard of Education in India is below global standards. The Programme for International Students Assessment (PISA) which measures the knowledge and skills of 15 year-olds has rated Tamil Nadu and Himachal Pradesh only higher to other states in the country. 03-Oct-2015
Dadri lynching case: Kejriwal barred fro Dadri, Oct 3 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with other AAP leaders on Saturday was barred by the local administration from entering Bishada village, where a man had been lynched earlier over reports of storing beef. Reportedly, AAP delegation was escorted by the police to Aakash Ganga guest house in Dadri later. AAP leader Ashutosh said that PM Modi should visit the village and assure the nation that nothing of this sort will ever be repeated. Sanjay Singh said that administration stopped them and made them stay in a guest house far from village. Independent MLA and Chief of Awami Itehad Party Engineer Rashid has asked Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, who was present in the house, to clarify his party's stand on the beef ban issue. Rashid continuously disrupted the first day of Jammu and Kashmir assembly's autumn session as he accused the PDP-BJP government of carrying forward the agenda of the RSS. Pak handed over dossiers to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon alleging that they contain "evidence" of alleged Indian involvement in terrorism in the country and links of its security agencies with the Tehrik-e-Taliban in Federally Administered Tribal Areas. Defence expert Praful Bakshi said it is a damage control exercise of Pakistan as its PM's image has been tarnished and cannot depict that Army overrides his decision. Security expert termed it as an old tact of involving a third party. BJP leader Sambit Patra praised External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for an effective rebut in the UN and Pak has been caught red-handed in its own web of lies and is frustrated. Clashes erupt during civic polls in West Bidhannagar/ Patharghata/ Jamuria/ Siliguri, Oct 03 (ANI): Violent clashes broke out during local body polls in West Bengal as voting was being held on Saturday. The violence erupted against booth capture in Bidhannagar and Jamuria constituencies. Trinamool Congress workers alleged independent candidate from area tried to capture polling booth. Booths were also vandalized and election officials asked media persons not to cover the destroyed polling machines. Later authorities assured that the situation was under control. The violence was in continuation with the two bomb blasts in Patharghata village of Murshidabad that took place late last night and killed 2 Congress workers. Buta Singh rejoins Congress New Delhi, Oct 03 (ANI): Former Union Minister Buta Singh who ditched the Congress last year has rejoined the party. Since the assembly elections in Punjab are just a year away and Singh belongs to Balmiki community, his re-entry is likely to help the party to canvass support from the lower cast voters. Singh was welcomed into the party fold by senior Congress leaders Ajay Maken and PC Chacko. Maken said that Singh's leadership will help Congress in attaining a strong hold in Punjab. Forty-seven dogs allegedly poisoned to d Coimbatore, Oct 03 (ANI): Carcasses of 47 stray dogs, that were allegedly poisoned, were found on a by-pass road in Coimbatore. The dogs from Kamatchipuram village were reportedly taken for sterilization. But three days later, they were discovered lying dead with their mouth and limbs tied, 30 kilometres from the village. The incident angered animal rights activists who blamed the village head for the alleged killing of the dogs. A police complaint has been filed against the village head in connection with the incident. Further investigation is on in the case. 03-Oct-2015
Shortage of essentials in Nepal as prote Birgunj, Oct 03 (ANI): Still piecing lives together from the worst earthquakes in 75 years, Nepalis are being tested by another trial - weeks of protests against a new Constitution have led to a shortage of essential commodities. The Madhesi community in Nepal's lowlands, many of whom trace their origins to India, have imposed an economic blockade to oppose the promulgation of the new Constitution. They are against splitting Nepal into seven provinces according to the new Constitution. Protesters are blocking up to 4,000 trucks at the border with India, the main supply route into landlocked Nepal, while the road to China is still obstructed by landslides. Nepal has started rationing fuel for vehicles, said Nepal Oil Corp spokesman Deepak Baral, after halt at crossing points on the India-Nepal border. More than 40 people have been killed in protests in the Himalayan republic since August. Indian oil trucks stopped crossing into Nepal because of protests in the south, prompting authorities to try to limit the use of cars and save fuel.As government talks with opposition parties stalled, traffic at the border with India remained stalled. 03-Oct-2015

Suspicious device found at railway stati Farrukhabad, Oct 03 (ANI): A suspicious device was found at Farrukhabad's railway station in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday morning. A state of panic was created after passengers waiting at the station saw the device which somewhat looked like a bomb. It also has a timer on it. Authorities were informed about it and they immediately reached the spot. The area has been cordoned off and bomb disposal squad is reaching the spot. Further details are awaited. 03-Oct-2015
Pakistan's Misbah intends to retire afte Lahore, Oct 03 (ANI): Pakistan Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq said on Friday (October 2) he was pondering retirement after the upcoming Pakistan-England series in the UAE, but said he had not yet reached a final decision. The 41-year-old said the series against England "could be my last", adding that he wanted to make his game memorable. Misbah told reporters while attending a training camp in Lahore. He said he was considering his options. Pakistan have never lost a series in the UAE and will again play in their adopted home, while England have two warm-up games ahead of the first test in Abu Dhabi on Oct. 13. Misbah retired from Twenty20 cricket in 2012 and left the one-day international game after Pakistan's quarter-final finish in the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in March. Chennaiyin FC eye better game in second Chennai, Oct 03 (ANI): Ahead of the second season of the Indian Super League (ISL) football championship kicking off this weekend, Chennaiyin Football Club manager, Marco Materazzi, said that his team is more prepared to put out a quality game throughout the tournament. The tournament is scheduled to start today as Chennaiyin FC kick off the game on home ground in Chennai.
