Kiren Rijiju warns global charities not New Delhi/ Bengaluru, Oct 2 (ANI): Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju who has been monitoring $1.8 billion of foreign aid has accused Greenpeace of inciting protests against industrial projects and warned global activists and aid organisations not to work against the government. The warning from Rijiju follows a crackdown by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration on foreign-funded non-governmental organisations (NGOs), including Greenpeace and the Ford Foundation. The crackdown has been criticised by the United States and Indian civil society groups. The ministry's foreigners division, which is under Rijiju and oversaw some $1.8 billion of incoming aid in 2014, suspended Greenpeace's licence to get foreign funds this year, citing financial irregularities. It has frozen some Greenpeace bank accounts. Rijiju said Greenpeace had diverted foreign contributions from their stated purpose. Traders' association seek CBI probe into New delhi, Oct 2 (ANI): At least eleven traders' association on Thursday sought CBI probe into the role of FSSAI that shot into limelight after it banned the instant noodle Maggi. These associations, related to food and pharmaceutical sectors, wanted the government to order a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into autocratic and dubious approach of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), forcing food industry to suffer. The traders' association alleged that the regulator has become den of corruption. The association had also demanded that advisories issued by the FSSAI since 2013 should be withdrawn immediately to respect an order by the Supreme Court. Food group Nestle has been battling its worst ever branding crisis in India since the Indian regulator found monosodium glutamate (MSG) and excess lead in a sample of its hugely popular Maggi instant noodles. Nestle withdrew all varieties of the Maggi, hours before the country's food safety authority (FSSAI) banned the snack, ruling it "unsafe and hazardous". 02-Oct-2015
