Suresh Prabhu lays foundation of India's Imphal, July 30 (ANI): Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Saturday laid the foundation stone of India's longest railway tunnel T/12 and also for the Imphal railway station. The 11.55 kilometre-long tunnel reaching up to Imphal from Tupul in Tamenglong district is scheduled to be completed in 2020. 2005 Shramjeevi Express blast convict se Jaunpur (U.P.), July 30 (ANI): A local court in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur city on Saturday sentenced 2005 Shramjeevi Express blast convict, Mohammad Alam Giri Hussain alias Ronny, to death. The hearing over another accused Obedur Rahman alias Babu Bhai, however, is scheduled for August 2. The July 2005 blast in the New Delhi-bound train left 12 people dead and 18 injured. 31-Jul-2016
Parle G biscuit's oldest factory shuts d Mumbai, July 30 (ANI): India's most popular biscuit brand, Parle G's oldest factory located in Ville Parle, Mumbai has shut down and locals are not happy with the development. The heartbroken people are lamenting that they are going to miss the factory and most importantly, the delectable aroma of the famous biscuits wafting from the factory into the nearby areas and through the Vile Parle local station. This 87-year-old factory was reportedly shut down accounting to its age-old structure. After Gurgaon, its Delhi's turn to face New Delhi, July 30 (ANI): Although heavy rainfall in Delhi brought respite from the scorching summer but it decelerated the pace of national capital on Saturday. Water logging and heavy traffic jams were a common sight today. Vehicles continued to move at snail's pace on several roads such as Mahipalpur Chowk, Rangpuri U-turn near Radisson hotel, Inderlok, Vayusenabad, Azad Market Chowk due to waterlogging, causing hardships to the commuters. Office-goers and others on the road had a tough time reaching their destinations and many of them took their anger to their Twitter handle. A frustrated Twitter user posted, "#DelhiRains on the verge of beating #mumbairains". Another twitter user mocked the government by tweeting, "If only 'Modi Ji' let him work, @ArvindKejriwal will bring Niagara fall to Delhi! #DelhiRains" Delhi Traffic Police took to the micro-blogging site to warn commuters of congestion due to waterlogging and said that the situation was likely to continue till Sunday. 31-Jul-2016

Adding that Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has given him a memorandum, Singh said Centre will deploy an inter-ministerial team to decide further course of action with regard to the same. Pakistani pilgrims undertake Char Dham Y Uttarkashi, July 30 (ANI): A group of 146 pilgrims from Pakistan, who are on Char Dham Yatra, were welcomed by Uttarkashi District Magistrate Deependar Chaudhary on their arrival in Uttarkashi after their return from the Gangotri shrine on Saturday. The Pakistani pilgrims were welcomed amid beating of traditional drums and were also garlanded. Local residents wished them a safe and sound journey to the Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines. 10,000 students apply for Prime Minister Jammu, July 30 (ANI): The Women College premises in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, was abuzz with students being counselled on how to apply for the Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) on Friday. Nearly 10,000 students from ten districts had applied for the scheme. PMSSS provides scholarships to the students of Jammu and Kashmir in the field of engineering, medical, arts, commerce and others in which the government provides fees, rental accommodation among other facilities. Traffic woes in Gurgaon ease, prohibitor Gurgaon, July 30 (ANI): Traffic woes in Millennium City Gurgaon have reportedly eased after two days of struggle, leading the district administration to lift prohibitory orders. Gurgaon Police have identified fourteen crucial points along NH8 and NH248A where they have deployed teams 24x7 to ensure a smooth flow of traffic. Each of these points will be manned by an inspector-ranked officer.
