Jaunpur (U.P.), July 30 (ANI): A local court in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur city on Saturday sentenced 2005 Shramjeevi Express blast convict, Mohammad Alam Giri Hussain alias Ronny, to death. The hearing over another accused Obedur Rahman alias Babu Bhai, however, is scheduled for August 2. The July 2005 blast in the New Delhi-bound train left 12 people dead and 18 injured. |

Mumbai, July 30 (ANI): India's most popular biscuit brand, Parle G's oldest factory located in Ville Parle, Mumbai has shut down and locals are not happy with the development. The heartbroken people are lamenting that they are going to miss the factory and most importantly, the delectable aroma of the famous biscuits wafting from the factory into the nearby areas and through the Vile Parle local station. This 87-year-old factory was reportedly shut down accounting to its age-old structure. The production at the biggest biscuit manufacturer in the world was halted at the Vile Parle factory a few weeks back. |

New Delhi, July 30 (ANI): Although heavy rainfall in Delhi brought respite from the scorching summer but it decelerated the pace of national capital on Saturday. Water logging and heavy traffic jams were a common sight today. Vehicles continued to move at snail's pace on several roads such as Mahipalpur Chowk, Rangpuri U-turn near Radisson hotel, Inderlok, Vayusenabad, Azad Market Chowk due to waterlogging, causing hardships to the commuters. Office-goers and others on the road had a tough time reaching their destinations and many of them took their anger to their Twitter handle. A frustrated Twitter user posted, "#DelhiRains on the verge of beating #mumbairains". Another twitter user mocked the government by tweeting, "If only 'Modi Ji' let him work, @ArvindKejriwal will bring Niagara fall to Delhi! #DelhiRains" Delhi Traffic Police took to the micro-blogging site to warn commuters of congestion due to waterlogging and said that the situation was likely to continue till Sunday. |

Jammu, July 30 (ANI): The Women College premises in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, was abuzz with students being counselled on how to apply for the Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) on Friday. Nearly 10,000 students from ten districts had applied for the scheme. PMSSS provides scholarships to the students of Jammu and Kashmir in the field of engineering, medical, arts, commerce and others in which the government provides fees, rental accommodation among other facilities. A sum of one lakh is also paid annually.

Traffic woes in Gurgaon ease, prohibitor

Gurgaon, July 30 (ANI): Traffic woes in Millennium City Gurgaon have reportedly eased after two days of struggle, leading the district administration to lift prohibitory orders. Gurgaon Police have identified fourteen crucial points along NH8 and NH248A where they have deployed teams 24x7 to ensure a smooth flow of traffic. Each of these points will be manned by an inspector-ranked officer. Gurgaon Police has advised people in Delhi to stay away and schools have been shut for two days till the situation normalises.
