KT Rama Rao launches T-SAT network Hyderabad (Telangana), July 30 (ANI): Telangana's Cabinet Minister for IT, Urban Development and NRI Affairs, KT Rama Rao, on Wednesday launched T-SAT, a satellite TV network, at the ITC Kakatiya in capital city Hyderabad. Rao was accompanied by state's Agricultural Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy here. Telangana Health and Medical Minister, Laxma Reddy, was also in attendance. Addressing a gathering during the programme, KT Rama Rao said: "Chief Minister always asks when a new technology comes, 'Does this technology has a social impact? If a technology doesn't benefit human, it's a waste, he says. We are starting T SAT. T-SAT stands for Telangana skills, academics and training. The motto is to educate, enlighten and empower. We always think how to make a bigger impact on the people of Telangana." There are two channels under T-SAT- Nipuna and Vidya. Nipuna airs coaching classes for competitive exams, skill and human resources development, in-service training programmes and Vidya caters to the requirements of school and college-going students. KCR takes cognizance of drug menace in T Hyderabad (Telangana), July 29 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao held a high level meeting to take review on the drugs cases in Hyderabad. After holding the meeting CM Rao instructed the officials to investigate the ongoing drug scandal with transparency and should be done with commitment. KCR reiterated that the state government is bent upon eradicating the social evils from the state. CM Rao rejected the reports that there was a large-scale use of drugs in the state and it had attained the level of menace. The government’s aim is to eradicate the supply of drugs at the entry level. Over 200 Kashmiri youths to get permanen Srinagar (J and K), July 29 (ANI): Over 200 youngsters in Kashmir on Saturday completed their sports coaching course under a special federal government package aimed at providing the youths a way to channelise their energies and to keep them from taking up violence. The candidates underwent an eight-week training programme in various sports like volleyball, football, basketball and cricket. This programme Special Certificate Course in Sports Coaching has been initiated under Prime Minister's Special Package for Jammu and Kashmir.The young sports coaches, already have contractual jobs in their hands. They will now work to bring out young prospects from far-flung areas of Kashmir and help the state churn out quality players. Watch: 7-feet long snake caught by Allah Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh), July 29 (ANI): The professor of Botanical Department N.B. Singh caught a seven-foot long snake at Teachers Colony in Allahabad. A panic got created on Chatham Line soon after the snake was found. The professor reached the spot immediately, caught the snake and left it in jungle. No bridge from past 60 years, villagers Balrampur (Uttar Pradesh), July 29 (ANI): Villagers in Balrampur's Malarpara have to cross the river at their own risk in absence of a bridge from past 60 years. Residents of the village have requested for a bridge a number of times but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears. The villagers have to cross the river everyday for their necessities and the kids often drown while going to school. The collector has finally taken an initiative and passed an order to build a bridge for peoples' convenience.
