District administration set up ‘Udaan Balrampur (Chhattisgarh), Aug 31 (ANI): Balrampur district administration has started Udaan coaching institute to provide free education and accommodation to girl students. The institute helps girls from financially weak background to get enrolled in various competitive examinations. The administration has also appointed two teachers from neighboring states. Students are all praises about this initiative as they prepare for UPSC examinations in guidance of officers. Various IAS and IPS officers visit this institute regularly to monitor the institute and to inspire the students. Teachers from Bihar are also contributing to the much-lauded initiative. 3-storey building collapses near JJ Junc Mumbai, Aug 31 (ANI): After heavy downpour for past few days, a 3-storey building has now collapsed in Mumbai, on early Thursday morning. The building that crumbled down was situated near JJ Junction in Pakmodia Street of Bhendi Bazar. At least 35 people are feared to be trapped in the debris. District Commissioner of Police of Zone 1 Dr. Manoj Sharma said that all efforts are underway to save the trapped people. A team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and 10 fire tenders are at the spot to carry out the rescue and relief operations. 31-Aug-2017

In Srinagar, scores of vendors were seen selling goats and sheep of varying sizes, as they tried to do maximum business before the sacrifice feast begins on Friday and ends on Saturday. A vendor said there was no standard rate for the cattle and it all depends on the weight. A customer, who was out to buy lambs and goats, said this Eidgah area in the city is famous for its animal fair, as vendors come from several urban and rural areas of Kashmir. Swine flu claims 12 lives Ludhiana, Aug 30 (ANI): Hundreds of swine flu cases have been registered from across the nation in past few months. The states of Punjab, Gujarat and Rajasthan have recorded maximum positive cases of H1N1 virus. In Ludhiana, at least 12 people have lost their lives due to Swine Flu. Chief Medical Officer of Ludiana Hardeep Singh on Wednesday informed that 108 patients are sensitive while 44 patients have been found positive in the city. Singh added that all the arrangements have been made to fight the swine flu in all private and government hospitals. The swine flu virus has claimed 86 lives in Rajasthan and 343 in Gujarat since January this year. 31-Aug-2017
