Gonda (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 31 (ANI): In the latest development in the death of a boy by cavalcade of Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar, police have seized the car and also arrested the minister’s driver. The incident took place on Saturday when Om Prakash Rajbhar was travelling in the car, which went on to hit the boy in Gonda. Furious over the child’s death, locals had staged a protest by placing the body on the road. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for the boy’s family. Meanwhile, Rajbhar said I will cooperate in the investigation.

The event comprised of 19 sessions with more than 30 speakers from across the country representing different domains. The final session on October 29 commenced with focus on all important and sensitive subject of ‘Historical reflection of the state of Jammu and Kashmir’. The session was addressed by Colonel Jaibans Singh (Retd.), a defense and security expert, D K Dubey, a prominent lawyer whose expertise lies in the legal aspects concerning the state, and Vijay Kranti, a veteran journalist. It drew a lot of interest from the audience. Speaking at the event, Col. Singh (Retd.) emphasised on the historically nationalist character of the state that has been derailed by a few separatist elements. The afternoon session was heralded with the topic "Shahbano se Sayrabano" from where ensued an informed discussion on the topic of Triple Talaq.

Baloch community protests against China

London (UK), Oct 31 (ANI): A large number of Baloch community members in the United Kingdom gathered outside the Cumberland Hotel in Marble Arch London on Sunday to protest against the China Pak Hill real estate developer's official launch. The Baloch protesters carried placards and flags of Balochistan. In their three-hour long protest, they raised slogans against the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and Human Rights violations in Balochistan. Members of Afghan community and other well-wishers of Baloch people also joined the protest to express their support for the Baloch struggle. Hyderabad Oct 31 (ANI): A vegetable vendor named Jameel Khan has made a mark for himself in the field of martial arts as he has won several international medals, including 45 gold, 12 silver and 16 bronze medals, in the World Karate Championships over the last 12 years. Despite achieving success against various countries, including USA, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Malaysia, he has received no help from the state government so far. He aims to open an academy in the state but he has been struggling with his own financial crisis. Currently, he works as a Karate master at the Safdaria Girls High School in Humayun Nagar, Mehdipatnam. Now, he has requested the government to give him some recognition so that he can prepare martial artists to bring laurels for India in the upcoming Olympics.

New Delhi, Oct 31 (ANI): Pratima Devi, who takes care of almost 400 dogs, has alleged that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) razed her makeshift shelter for dogs. Devi said the MCD officials and Police came and asked her to vacate her make-shift dog shelter and threatened to run vehicles over her and her dogs if she refused to do so. Despite being a ragpicker, Pratima has been taking care of stray dogs in and around Delhi's Saket area for several years. She is known as the 'Dog Lady' among those who know her or have seen her around the PVR Complex in Saket.

100-year-old woman raped, dies

Meerut (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 31 (ANI): In an inhumane incident, a 100-year-old woman died after getting raped by a 24-year-old man in Meerut's Jaani village on Monday. "The accused was in an inebriated state when he attacked the helpless woman," informed police. The incident took place when the woman was asleep. Police added: "He was trying to escape when her cries were heard by her brother and neighbours who overpowered him and handed him over to police." An FIR has been registered in this regard.
