Suspended BJP leader Manoj Baitha surren

Bihar, Feb 28 (ANI): Suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Manoj Baitha, who is accused in the Muzaffarpur hit-and-run case, surrendered before the police on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Baitha was shifted from Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital to Patna Medical College and Hospital, for treatment of the injuries he suffered in the accident. Baitha was suspended from BJP party's membership for six years for his involvement in the accident. He is the owner of the SUV that ran over nine children and injured around 20 outside their government school at Dharampur village in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district on February 24. Soon after the accident, the Opposition started cornering Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the BJP. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav was the first to allege that the vehicle involved in the Muzaffarpur accident belonged to a BJP General Secretary and the driver was intoxicated.

Groom shot dead, police registers FIR

New Delhi, Feb 28 (ANI): A 20 year old groom was shot dead while sitting on a mare during his marriage procession on way to Faridabad.  The deceased brother alleged one of their neighbours was behind this killing. He said that Maado brought three-four boys in the procession that started firing in which the groom died.  He added that his brother was very innocent. Minor girls booked for physically assaul

Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), Feb 28 (ANI): Three minor girls were booked for physically assaulting and inserting a log of wood into the vaginal area of a class 3 girl student here in Pendra. The incident took place in a pre-matriculate hostel following an argument over the victim who allegedly dropped a few washed clothes belonging to three girls studying in class 7 and 8, by mistake. The victim complained of severe pain and discomfort to her mother, who then took her to the hospital for treatment and also reported the matter to the police. The Gaurella police have started investigations and booked the three minor girls under Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) 2012.

Fire breaks out in factory in Bhiwandi

Bhiwandi (Maharashtra), Feb 28 (ANI): Massive fire broke out in a power loom factory in Maharashtra’s Bhiwandi late night on Wednesday. Four fire tenders reached at Narayana Compound Road to extinguish the fire. According to the fire officer, an hour or two would be required to douse the fire. Amaravati (AP), Feb 28 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu clearly stated that he will not hurt his party’s, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state. While addressing the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) coordination committee meeting said that he will never break “mitra dharma.”  “In case they (BJP) want to differ, I will do namaskar and go my way," Naidu said at a press conference.” He added. Earlier, there were reports that TDP is mulling severing alliance with BJP for allegedly ignoring the interests of the state in the Budget 2018-19, including the unified demand for granting a 'special status' to Andhra Pradesh.

Nagaland Polls: Voting underway for 59 s

Peren (Nagaland), Feb 27 (ANI): Voting for the 60-member assembly in Nagaland is underway. While the state has a 60-member house, voting will be held only for 59 constituencies. In Nagaland, Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party Chief Neiphiu Rio has been declared elected unopposed from the Northern Angami-II constituency. Aggressive campaigning has been witnessed in the last few weeks from both key contenders, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress President Rahul Gandhi respectively. 219 recruits pass out from J&K Light Inf

Srinagar (J&K), Feb 27 (ANI): Latest batch of recruits from Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI) Regimental Centre participated in the passing out parade on Monday. 219 recruits, who completed one year of strenuous training under the Recruit Course Serial number 113, displayed their skills during glittering parade at the Bana Singh Parade Ground of JAK LI Regimental Centre. The parade was reviewed by Lieutenant General AK Bhatt, GOC, Chinar Corps and was attended by proud parents and relatives of recruits, besides many civil and military dignitaries. Lieutenant General AK Bhatt congratulated new recruits for their immaculate performances. He praised their contribution towards encouraging more and more youth from J&K to come forward and join the security forces.
