Bengaluru (Karnataka), May 10 (ANI): After Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing BJP workers through NaMo app, attacked Congress Party by saying that it has nothing to do with dalits, Congress President Rahul Gandhi retorted by saying, "That is our job we will defend the rights of dalits. The matter is when Rohith Vemula is killed PM does not say a word, when dalits in Una are beaten, humiliated our Prime Minister does not say a word. Karnataka government gives half of the money to dalits and tribals which the entire central government gives. This is something that the Indian government should be ashamed of.

Karnataka polls: BJP doesn’t understan

Bengaluru (Karnataka), May 10 (ANI): In a press conference held by the Congress in Bengaluru on Thursday, Congress President Rahul Gandhi accused leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party of not understanding the term ‘Hindu’. Few days earlier BJP had accused Gandhi for visiting religious institutions, said his visits are just for show. Gandhi said, “Throughout last 15 years, I've been visiting temples, mosques, gurudwaras and every religious institution I come across. BJP doesn't like this. I don't think they understand meaning of the term Hindu. It's a perspective. It's something which lives with you throughout”.

Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), May 10 (ANI): In yet another horrifying incident of crime against women, a girl was burnt alive in Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. The victim is admitted in Kabir Chaura hospital of Varanasi in serious condition. The incident took place because of one sided love. The man forcefully entered in victim’s house, thrashed her and set her on fire.

Minor allegedly raped by local in Sitapu

Sitapur (Uttar Pradesh), May 10 (ANI): A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a local villager in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur. According to the police the villager took her to a toilet and raped her. Mahendra Chauhan, Additional Superintendent of Police, said, “A case has been registered under POCSO act. The victim has been sent for medical treatment. The culprit will be arrested soon”

Army organises medical, vet camp in J&Kâ

Poonch (Jammu and Kashmir), May 10 (ANI): The Indian Army on Wednesday organised a medical and veterinary camp at Poonch's Degwar village in Jammu and Kashmir. Organised by the 93 Brigade and 2 Naga Battalion of Naga regiment, the camp provided free checkups and medicines to the residents and their cattle in the far-flung area that lies close to the Line of Control (LoC). The locals expressed gratitude for the army's initiative.

Street dog menace continues, team of sci

Sitapur (Uttar Pradesh), May 10 (ANI): An 8-year-old child was injured after being attacked by pack of dogs in Sitapur’s Bhagautipur village. The child was later admitted to hospital. Recently, 12 children have lost their lives in the region till date after being attacked by dogs. A team of scientists was sent to look into the matter. Dr. Dinesh Chandra, principal scientist, Indian Veterinary Research Institute, IVRI, said, “We have to see whether the dogs are wild or otherwise. 'We're here to find out how and why did the dogs turn violent & started attacking people'. A team of four scientists have come to look into the matter.”

Karnataka polls: PM Modi says BJP believ

New Delhi, May 10 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has the highest number of MPs belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) communities. He also emphasised that his party believes in equality and development for all and working tirelessly for the welfare of deprived and women. He also said that BJP is continuously working for the benefit of the ST and ST communities. “BJP has the highest number of MPs belonging to SC & ST communities. More and more people of these communities are connecting with BJP,” PM Modi said. “We need to work tirelessly for the welfare of deprived and women, BJP believes in equality and development for all,”PM modi said. He was addressing and interacting with SC/ST/OBC and Slum Morcha Karyakartas of BJP in Karnataka through NAMO APP.

New Delhi, May 09 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday demanded the Election Commission to countermand election to Raja Rajeshwari Nagar constituency in Karnataka over the seizure of more than 9,000 voter identity cards.
