Several trains cancelled due to closure

New Delhi, Jul 30 (ANI): The Indian Railways on Monday announced that the old Yamuna Bridge 'Loha Pul' has been temporarily closed for rail traffic as the water level reached around 205.53-meter mark. Due to the closure of the Yamuna Bridge, at least 27 passenger trains have been cancelled while seven others have been diverted. Meanwhile, due to less availability of shelter homes, families residing near old Yamuna Bridge in the national capital are allegedly forced to stay on roads. They were evacuated from their homes after the water level of the river crossed the danger mark.

Last rites of CRPF Jawan Naseer Ahmed pe

Pulwama (J&K), Jul 30 (ANI): Last rites of CRPF Jawan Naseer Ahmed were held in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama. He was shot dead by terrorists on Sunday. He belonged to 134 battalion of CRPF. He got injured in the attack and later succumbed to his injuries.

2 dead, 4 injured after roof of a house

Muzaffarnagar (UP), Jul 30 (ANI): In yet another case of roof collapse, at least two people died and four others were injured after a roof of their house collapsed in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar. The bodies of the two have been sent for postmortem. Meanwhile, the husband of the deceased and their three children also sustained injuries in the accident. The victims were immediately rushed to Muzaffarnagar Medical College. Police and administrative officers are currently present on the spot.

Large-scale road construction work under

Rajouri (Jammu - Kashmir), Jun 19 (ANI): A road is being built under Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Rajouri. It will help villagers to commute without any difficulties. More than 70 villages are covered under PMGSY roads connectivity in hilly areas. It will be connected to Jammu's Poonch National Highway and will provide road connectivity to villages like Mubarak Pura and Thandi Kassi. Locals said, "We'll be benefitted with the construction of road. Ambulances will reach us and children will go to school on time".

Trump threatens US government shutdown

New Delhi, Jul 30 (ANI): The United States (US) President Donald Trump said he was willing to shut down the government if the promises made by the Congress to fund his border wall were not fulfilled by September. "I would be willing to 'shut down' government if the Democrats do not give us the votes for Border Security, which includes the Wall! Must get rid of Lottery, Catch and Release etc. and finally go to system of Immigration based on MERIT! We need great people coming into our Country!" Trump tweeted. This comes in the light of similar threats that Trump has issued in the past, with him saying in March that he would be open to "closing up the country for a while" if he was not to get his wall, the CNN reported.

CRPF jawan shot dead in J&K’s Pulwama

Pulwama (Jammu and Kashmir), Jul 30 (ANI): A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan was shot dead by terrorists in South Kashmir’s Pulwama on Sunday. The jawan was identified as Naseer Ahmed, who belonged to 134 battalion of CRPF. He got injured in the attack and later succumbed to his injuries. Several CRPF jawans were injured in the attack.

Korea (Chhattisgarh), Jul 30 (ANI): Students are facing problem in reaching school by crossing river without a bridge in Chhattisgarh’s Korea. Heavy rainfall increases the water level, making it almost impossible for students to cross the river. “Can't go to school when it rains heavily, there's no bridge across the river we cross daily”, said a student. Apart from water, there are also risks of snakes hiding in the marshland. “We will probe this to find out if there are rivers without bridges. Bridges will be constructed wherever they are needed”, said Manendragarh SDM Pradeep Sahu.

DM orders traffic closure on old Yamuna

New Delhi, Jul 30 (ANI): The District Magistrate (DM) of East Delhi, K. Mahesh ordered closure of traffic on the old Yamuna Bridge with immediate effect after flooding in river Yamuna crossing water level crossed danger mark. Commuters faced problem as they were stuck in traffic after they reached the bridge unknowingly. Water level is expected to rise even further after over 6,50,000 cusecs of water released from Haryana.

Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), Jul 28 (ANI): A massive part of road caved in following heavy rainfall in Ghaziabad’s Vasundhara area on July 26. The road turned into a pond after the incessant rains. The construction work of the road started on July 27 and residents were asked to vacate the apartments. The District Magistrate of Ghaziabad, Ritu Maheshwari said, “The construction of road has started. Our priority is to fill the caved road to minimise the danger level. Thousands of sand bags were used to make the structure safe”.

New Delhi, Jul 28 (ANI): Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to visit the United States of America. Reportedly, Putin has also invited his US counterpart, Donald Trump, to Moscow. The place is ideal for meditation. The festival celebration also marks the 800+ commemoration of Lord Jigten Sumgon Mahaparinirvana. The head lama of Drikung Kagyu lineage, Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche was the chief guest on the occasion. Thousand of devotees, both locals and foreigners, thronged the monastery to celebrate the occasion. Monk in their best costumes performed ritual mask dance besides Yak dance, devotional song and folk song were also part of the celebration.

New Delhi, Jul 28 (ANI): While reacting to the statement of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Ram Vilas Paswan who had said that we want the Centre to bring an ordinance about SC/ST Act but it couldn’t be done. So, we’ve asked Centre to reintroduced it at the Parliament on August 7, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy said, “I think Paswan needs a lecture on the constitution”. He further added, “Bill for what there is already an act the only thing that has changed is that the Supreme Court has said that the arrest is not instantaneous. You can arrest but within seven days after making sure that the complaint that has been made has some basis. At the moment today, anybody can go and compliant”.

July 27 turned into a day to remember, as the world witnessed the longest lunar eclipse till date. The longest lunar eclipse lasted about more than 1.5 hours, though the partial eclipse lasted for four hours. According to the Hindu tradition, no religious or auspicious practice is performed at the time of lunar eclipse.

PM Modi arrives in India after 3-nation

New Delhi, Jul 28 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday arrived in Delhi after completing a five-day tour to three African nations. PM Modi departed from Air Force Base Waterkloof in Johannesburg on Friday, after attending the 10th annual BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) summit. As part of his five-day official tour, Prime Minister Modi first visited Kigali, Rwanda on Monday. He did a one-on-one meeting and delegation-level talks with the President of the Republic of Rwanda, Paul Kagame.  On Wednesday, Prime Minister Modi arrived in South Africa to participate in the BRICS summit.

Chennai (TN), Jul 28 (ANI): Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief M Karunanidhi suffered a major setback on Friday night. He was rushed to the Kauvery Hospital in Alwarpet from his residence. The DMK Chief was admitted to the hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after a sudden drop in blood pressure. Soon after, the hospital released a statement saying that Karunanidhi's blood pressure was stabilised with medical help, adding that he was under observation. The DMK Chief, who was being treated at his Gopalapuram residence for fever due to Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), has been taken to the hospital for further treatment.

Coimbatore (TN), Jul 28 (ANI): Devotees decorated a temple of goddess ‘Amman’ in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore city with 2000 kilograms of fruits. From mangoes, pineapples, pears, bananas, and More than 26 varieties of fruits were seen hanging, sticking to the walls and adorning the idols in the temple as garlands as devotees queued up at the Mahali Amman Temple during the Tamilian month of Aadi.
