Deer rescued from sewer in UP’s Amroha

Amroha (Uttar Pradesh), Jan 30 (ANI): A deer calf was stuck in a sewer in Amroha’s Hasanpur area in Uttar Pradesh on January 29. It was later rescued with the help of villagers and was handed over to the forest department. The deer was later released in the jungle after providing first aid. Narendra Singh, Veterinary Doctor said, “The deer fell in the sewer and we have checked its joints. Bones are all intact and it is moving its legs fine. The deer would be given first aid after which it would be released in the jungle.”

Anna Hazare to begin hunger strike for L

Ralegan Siddhi (Maharashtra), Jan 30 (ANI): Social activist Anna Hazare’s hunger strike will begin today over the “non-fulfillment” of assurances by the Centre and the Maharashtra government on the Lokpal bill and Lokayukta. He visited the temple in the morning and addressed media before moving towards the venue of his hunger strike where people have already started gathering in his support. Meanwhile, the Devendra Fadnavis Cabinet on Tuesday decided to bring the office of Maharashtra Chief Minister under the jurisdiction of Lokayukta.

Man gives Triple Talaq to wife over phon

Etah (Uttar Pradesh), Jan 30 (ANI): A man gave triple talaq to his wife for reaching 10 minutes late in Uttar Pradesh’s Etah. “My grandmother was sick so I got late to reach my husband’s home by 10 minutes. So because I was 10 minutes late my husband divorced me. He gave talaq over phone. He beat me up and kicked me out of his house. Earlier also he used to beat me regularly,” the victim said. She also accused her in-laws of beating her regularly and demanding dowry.

New Delhi, Jan 30 (ANI): Vice Admiral G Ashok Kumar, VSM assumed charge as the new Vice Chief of Navy Staff (VCNS) from Vice Admiral Ajit Kumar PVSM, AVSM, VSM who held the post since October 30, 2017. The ceremony took place at South Block lawns at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the national capital on Wednesday. G Ashok Kumar held the charge as the Deputy Chief of Naval Staff from June 6, 2016. The Vice Admiral held various challenging assignments. He has served a distinguished three decades in his career.

Man beats father to death in Gaya

Gaya (Bihar), Jan 30 (ANI): In a shocking incident, a son from Bihar’s Gaya beat his father to death after a fight ensued between the two. After a fight broke out between the two, the son took a stick and hit his father on head which caused the latter’s death. The culprit was later arrested after the police reached the spot. The body of the deceased was sent for post mortem.

Damoh (Madhya Pradesh), Jan 30 (ANI): A pregnant lady was allegedly denied treatment by government hospital staff for not paying Rs.5000 in Damoh’s Tendukheda on Tuesday. The relatives of the pregnant woman claimed that they were asked to leave the hospital when they couldn’t pay the demanded amount. The areas Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Narayan Singh, said that, “Statements of relatives revealed that hospital staff had demanded money. Proper action will be taken.” However according to hospital staff, proper treatment was accorded to the patient but it was a transfer case and they could only recommend them to another hospital. Apparently the woman wanted an abortion in the fourth month of her pregnancy, which the hospital couldn’t provide the services for.

Man stabs wife to death at workplace in

Mumbai (Maharashtra), Jan 30 (ANI): A 35-year-old woman Veena Bhoir was stabbed to death by husband at her office in Bhayander area of Maharashtra’s Mumbai on Tuesday. The accused has been arrested and further investigation is underway in this case. At around 10:30 am quarrel ensued between the couple, following which he whipped out a knife and stabbed her multiple times. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival. The couple lived in Murdha locality in Bhayander and the victim had left home on January 2. On Tuesday, her spouse got to know that she was attending office so came there. Woman’s husband was arrested later and has been charged with murder.

3 dead, 2 injured after coming in contac

Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh), Jan 30 (ANI): Three died and two others suffered burn injuries when they came in contact with a high-tension wire while installing a utility pole at Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly on Tuesday. This incident occurred in Crystal Colony of Bareilly. According to witnesses, sufferers were setting up the electric pole of a private telecom company when the accident occurred. The deceased have been identified as Subhash (45), his son-in-law Anoop (30) and nephew Shankar (28), all residents of Sisoiya village. The injured were identified as Udayveer (25) and Lalla (24), both residents of Singhoe village at Badaun district in UP. Police said their condition is critical.

Tripura Police arrests 2 dog smugglers i

Agartala (Tripura), Jan 30 (ANI): East Agartala Police arrested two persons along with four dogs in a car while they were trying to smuggle them out of the state on Tuesday. Officer-in-charge of East Agartala police station Debasish Saha said, “During police bike patrolling in the wee hours they on the basis of suspicion checked a car and during checking found four dogs inside it. Accordingly, police detained the driver and the passenger of the car and during interrogation the disclosed that they are from Kanmun area of Mizoram.” The arrested persons have been identified as Zorum Sanga and Lalthang Muiya. Four dogs which were suspected to be drugged and in unconscious condition were found wrapped in jute sacks inside the car. One of the arrested persons Zorum Sanga informed police that they had come for dropping someone at the Drop Gate area and during the return; they lost their road and met few boys who sold the dogs to them for Rs 300. However, he denied that they did not know the exact location from where they brought the dogs and informed that they were taking them to keep them in their house as they hardly find any dog in their state.

Citizenship Amendment Bill: Centre must

Guwahati (Assam), Jan 30 (ANI): After meeting on Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, on alliance with NDA, speaking to ANI, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma appealed to the central government to look into the issue of Citizenship Amendment Bill keeping in mind the sentiments of the people of northeast India. “We are here to come together to appeal to the government that this issue must be looked at from point of view of sentiments of northeast and country as a whole. We will see further course of action as the time comes.” He also said that parties have come together purely on the basis of issues and for the central government to realise these. Under the leadership of Sangma, who is also the president of the National People's Party (NPP), the meeting was attended by 11 regional political parties from the North East including NEDA allies AGP, NPP, NDPP, UDP, JD(U), IPFT opposed the Bill today. The NPP, which convened the meeting, is BJP's partner in the ruling alliance in Meghalaya. While Sangma was the convener of the meeting, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) was the co-convener of the meeting. AGP had snapped ties with the BJP in Assam earlier this month over the Bill.

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis thanks

Mumbai, Jan 30 (ANI): While speaking to ANI about the drought relief package of Rs 4,714 crore which is approved by the central government, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said financial assistance of Rs 4,714 crore from the Centre for drought-affected areas of Maharashtra is indeed a “historic package” that would be of great help to the farmers. "I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Agricultural Minister Radha Mohan Singh for giving this historic package for the drought-affected areas of the state. Such a huge amount is possibly never given at one go to any state or to Maharashtra. Now, we would be able to help the farmers in the drought-affected areas of the state," Fadnavis said on Tuesday. Maharashtra has already declared drought in 151 talukas which have been and 268 revenue circles and 1000 villages and had sought assistance under the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF). The state had demanded Rs 7962 crore as drought assistance, out of which the Centre approved Rs 4714 crore.

However, they will be happy to use this position to try their bench strength ahead of the ICC World Cup. Virat Kohli is rested for the remainder of the tour and therefore Rohit Sharma will be at the helm for the last two ODIs and the T-20 series.

Bhatt received a warm reception, followed by several performances by the students. An overwhelmed Bhatt addressed the gathering speaking of his career, challenges and gave advice to the students. Post the event, Bhatt said, “Your work is only complete when others speak praises of it, in itself your work is nothing.” Bhatt has delivered some iconic films during his long spanning career; ‘Sadak’, ‘Aashiqui’, ‘Arth’, ‘Raaz’, ‘Jism’ and ‘Gangster’ being some of his biggest hits. He has been married twice and all four of his children; Pooja, Rahul, Shaeen and Alia, have known stardom one way or the other. He is currently working on ‘Sadak 2’ which stars his daughters Alia and Pooja Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur.

Cast of ‘Ek Ladki Ko’ promotes love-

Mumbai, Jan 30 (ANI): The star-studded cast of ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ recently stepped out to promote their upcoming film in Mumbai. The promotion also doubled up as the launch of the film’s second trailer. In a unique twist, the lead pairs; Sonam K Ahuja, Rajkummar Rao, Anil Kapoor and Juhi Chawla stood in separate glass boxes. To make a statement about love-without-boundaries, the glass boxes had #setlovefree written over them. Sonam and Juhi looked dazzling in their choicest of Indian attire. Anil Kapoor complimented the ladies, looking dapper in a black bandhgala suit. While Rao chose a more casual look with a red bomber jacket. The star cast interacted with the audiences on their way out of the venue, obliging some with selfies. Directed by debutant Shelly Chopra Dhar, and is a story about love, family and acceptance. The film is set to release on February 01. The film’s title, ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ is adapted from one of the iconic songs of the 90’s from the movie, ‘1942: A Love Story’.
