New Delhi/IBNS: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday asked Union Home Minister Amit Shah to restore law and order in the national capital after reports emerged that pro and anti-CAA demonstrators clashed and threw stones at each other in some parts of Delhi on Monday.

The clashes occurred just less than 24 hours since similar incidents were reported from the national capital on Sunday.

" Very distressing news regarding disturbance of peace and harmony in parts of Delhi coming in.I sincerely urge Hon’ble LG n Hon'ble Union Home Minister to restore law and order n ensure that peace and harmony is maintained. Nobody should be allowed to orchestrate flagrations," Kejriwal tweeted.

According to reports, fresh clashes occurred in Bhajanpura, Maujpur and Jaffrabad neighbourhoods of northeast Delhi.

Several parts of India, including Delhi, have witnessed massive protests ever since the new citizenship law was passed by the Centre late last year.

Following the clashes, mobile internet has been suspended for a six-hour period starting 6 pm. A Rapid Action Force (RAF) of UP Police has been deployed.
