Kolkata, May 10 (IBNS) Tollywood actor Arjun Chakroborty said he loves the Durga puja theme of upcoming film 'Asche Bochhor Abar Hobe' as it captured the essential spirit of 'Bangaliana'.

“We had shot real time in the biggest Durga Puja pandal Marconi in Durgapur for ‘Aschhe Bachhor Abar Habe’. From the Bodhon to Bisarjan everything was captured on screen with host of non-actors present. I guess this was for the first time in recent years for a Bengali film to recapture the spirit of Durga Puja and the live moments. We had Kahaani by Sujoy Ghosh but it was not a Bengali film,” the blockbuster Chirodini Tumi Je Amar two actor told IBNS after music launch of the film here.

“Me and many other members of the cast were heart broken when we heard the shootings will take place during the five days of festivity. For us shooting is like work, attending office like you and which Bengalee would wish to be on work mode during Durga Pujas, which Kolkatan would like to be away from city during the five days,” Arjun, an integral and active member of the theatre group run by father Sabyasachi Chakroborty’s household, recalled.

“We were all happy. The adda at the end of shooting reminded of the puja chat sessions in Kolkata,” Arjun, whose debut film was ‘Bapi Bari Jaa’ by Abhijit Guha-Sudeshna Roy, and did seven big features ever since, said.

The actor would rate his role as stage performer as more exerting than giving expressions before the camera.

“Your parents will not come to your aid, or your seniors during those two hours of live performance on stage. In films or serials there can be number of retakes and you can improvise,” the son of theatre personality Sabyasachi Chakroborty said.

About his fortchcoming projects, Arjun said, “I turn up in Auto no 9696 in the role of a street-smart autowala who adores SRK while Bawali Unlimited is a comic caper in mainstream genre. I am ready to essay different kinds of role.”

About his casting with  Rwittika Sen, of Aparna Sen’s Arshinagar fame, Arjun said, “We were all part of a young group who bonded well on the location. But it is upto the audience and producers who will decide if we as a pair will click in future films.”

Director Susanta Das, having seen Arjun first in ‘Gaaner Oparey’ years back, said, “I think the Pujo Prem flavor between  2012 and 2015 haven’t changed much. My film deals with the love between youngsters with the first crush during Shasthi and which blossoms and takes final twist and turn (porinati) as the day of festivities end. And the title can be called the tagline as puja and prem are entwined and synomous for each and every romantic young Bengali."

Previously Bengali films had been themed on Durga puja but shot in other time of the year in the sets of puja mandap and idols worshipped by priests in keeping with the rituals thus missing the live spirit of the festivities, the crowd and frenzy perhaps.

“This is one of its kind Bengali film which is nothing short of Durgapujalive.com with the climax happening on Dashomi,” he signed off.

Produced by Greentouch Entertainment ,  ‘Asche Bochhor Abar Hobe’ has its soundscape designed by Indradeep Dasgupta.
