Adelaide, Dec 8 (IBNS): Indian wicketkeeper Risabh Pant, who is seen as a successor of MS Dhoni, has touched a record set by the former Indian captain.

During the first innings of the ongoing Test match, Pant made six dismissals.

He equaled Dhoni's feat of taking most catches in an innings.

He reached the achievement after taking Josh Hazlewood's catch behind the stumps.

Dhoni has achieved the same feat in Wellington in 2009.

Dhoni had announced his retirement from cricket in 2014.

He had played his last Test in Melbourne against Australia from December 26 to 30, 2014.

Pant is playing his sixth Test match.
