People demand hanging punishment for accused in Badaun rape case

Allahabad/New Delhi, June 02 (ANI): People in northern India took to streets protesting against the Badaun rape and murder case demanding for a similar fate for the accused. Supporters of the BJP and protesters in Allahabad hanged effigies of accused to a tree, saying the accused should be hanged in the same manner. Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, said existing laws should be implemented properly. Local police said a post-mortem confirmed that the girls, from the Dalit community, had been raped and died from the hanging. Five men have been arrested over the attack and a search is under way for two other suspects.
