First ladies from 17 African nations attend fashion show in Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 30 (ANI): First Ladies from 17 African nations, whose spouses are in the city to participate in the third India-Africa Forum Summit, attended a fashion show in New Delhi. The First Ladies went for a field trip in the national capital, which was tailor-made to give them a first-hand experience of mini-India, said media reports. As part of this tour, the First Ladies first went to Akshardham Temple, and later attended the fashion show, based on the theme – Threads of Banaras. The fashion show was a collection of silk and intricate brocade outfits from the holy town of Varanasi. After the fashion show, the First Ladies headed for a culinary session with famous Indian cook Kunal Kapoor, and later enjoyed a lunch prepared by him. Later, they accompanied their spouses, head of states or governments of African nations, to a banquet dinner by President Pranab Mukherjee.
